Dear Members of the Community:

On behalf of the Board of Commissioners, staff and residents of the Swansea Housing Authority, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our website:  swanseahousingauthority.org.

On this site, we hope to make a myriad of information  available to those who wish to find out more about the types of housing that are offered as well as eligibility requirements, site information, ongoing activities and links to supportive services and other related agencies.

It is the mission of the Swansea Housing Authority to provide safe, sanitary and affordable housing to both the elderly and non-elderly disabled at Martin Court as well as at our Federal Scattered Family Sites and Group Home.  We have priorities and preference ratings; they being elderly veteran residents, non-elderly veteran residents, elderly residents, non-elderly disable residents, elderly non-residents and non-elderly disabled non-residents.  Rent is based on income at the rate of 30% of the net income and includes all utilities except for cable and telephone.

The Swansea Housing Authority meets every second Tuesday of the month at 5:00 p.m. in the Community Room.  Agendas are made public at the Town Hall as well as on this website.

The Board is comprised of four members.  Their names and contact information is as follows:

  3. Matthew Beane:  177 Bushee Road, Swansea, MA – Member
  4. Richard Ryan, Jr.:  205 Pinehurst Street, Swansea, MA – Treasurer

The office hours for the management office are:  Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to noon and from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Thursdays.  Maintenance is on site from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Swansea Housing Authority is managed by the Dartmouth Housing Authority.
